Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 7 July 2026

TakeOver gives you real control over computers and cameras. This policy sets the boundaries: use it only on what you own or are clearly authorised to control, and never to harm, spy on, or deceive others.

  • 2. Authorised devices only

1. Core principle

TakeOver is a tool for controlling your own devices, or devices you have explicit permission to control. Any use that accesses, monitors or manipulates a device, network or person without lawful authority is strictly prohibited.

2. Authorised devices & networks only

  • Only pair and control computers, phones and cameras you own or are authorised to manage.
  • Only use TakeOver on networks you are permitted to use.
  • Do not attempt to bypass the pairing approval, use another person’s pairing secret, or connect to a device that has not approved you.

3. Consent for cameras, screen & audio

Camera monitoring (CCTV), screen capture, microphone use and recording are powerful. You must obtain any consent and provide any notice required by the laws that apply to you before monitoring or recording people, spaces or communications. Covert surveillance of individuals without a lawful basis is prohibited and may be a criminal offence.

4. Prohibited uses

You must not use TakeOver to:

  • Access, control or surveil any device, camera, account or person without authorisation;
  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, or invade the privacy of any individual;
  • Install it on someone else’s device to monitor them without their knowledge and consent (“stalkerware”);
  • Break any law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or facilitate fraud;
  • Distribute malware, or use the Software to gain unauthorised access to systems or data;
  • Interfere with, overload, or attempt to disrupt the connection-brokering or relay services, or the availability of the Software for others.

5. Security & integrity

Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our services without permission, and do not circumvent authentication, rate-limiting or abuse-prevention measures. Responsible security disclosures are welcome — email us.

6. Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for how you use TakeOver and for complying with all laws that apply to you, including computer-misuse, wiretap, surveillance, workplace-monitoring and data-protection laws. When in doubt, get consent and get advice.

7. Enforcement

This policy forms part of our Terms of Service. Where we operate optional connection services, we may restrict or block access that we reasonably believe violates this policy or the law. Because the Software runs on your own devices, primary responsibility for compliant use rests with you.

8. Contact

To report abuse or make a security disclosure, email hello@mishti.world.
